At Hotel La Croix Blanche Fontevraud, we do everything we can to support and assist you during your stay.
Although we do not hold the Tourisme & Handicap label, our property is accessible.

What we offer on-site

• Choice of a double bed or twin beds
• Walk-in shower, shower chair, grab rails in both the shower and the toilet, an adapted sink
• Mini-fridge available to store your medication
• Wardrobe with clothes rack at two different heights
• Wide entrance door and two sliding doors (between the entrance area and the bedroom | between the entrance area and the bathroom)

Restaurant & Reception

• Restaurant accessible by wheelchair via the porch door (walker access via porch or front entrance)
• Reception with large automatic doors and a counter suitable for wheelchair users; check-in can be done seated
• Several ground-floor rooms for meetings and group meals
• Outdoor terraces

Parking

• Private car park at the rear of the hotel (wide spaces but no designated disabled bays – approx. 50 metres from reception)

Additional on-site facilities

• Accessible toilets (restaurant, terrace, and accessible guestroom)
• Pool garden (please note: the pool itself is not accessible for wheelchair users; no ramp)
• Large-button equipment on request at reception: landline telephone and TV remote control
• Possibility to adapt restaurant dishes for certain dietary restrictions (with prior reservation)

In the village

• Drop-off zone in front of the hotel, restaurant and lounge bar
• One disabled parking space in front of the hotel, next to the town hall (maximum stay: 15 minutes)
• Defibrillator across from the hotel (on wall of town hall)
• Pharmacy
• Nurse available for wound dressing etc (with prior booking only / closest hospital: Saumur, 20 minutes by car)

Please note: the hotel does not have a lift.

 

Hotel La Croix Blanche is located in the heart of the town of Fontevraud-l'Abbaye in the Loire Valley, this is a Unesco World Heritage area.
Therefore parking signs are limited and small, but they can be found on EACH entrance road into the village.

In order to help you reach our hotel and car park please follow the instructions below:
* pedestrians/cyclists: you can reach the hotel, restaurant and bar-lounge on foot or by bicycle via the town square opposite the abbey (= 5 Place des Plantagenêts, 49590 Fontevraud-l'Abbaye)
* when entering Fontevraud by car look for the signs indicating our car park: the signs are quite small and dark grey. (do not look for the signs indicating the hotel):

Hotel La Croix Blanche is located opposite the abbey, however the car park is situated at the rear of the hotel building and can be reached via a residential area which leads into a one way street and then towards our car park (yes, hotel guests may use the one way street from the wrong end!)

* electric cars: recharge your electric car on Place de 8 Mai at 200 metres – credit cards accepted

Beware: sometimes the name of our town Fontevraud-l'Abbaye is written in different ways on the internet or the satnav: if necessary try Fontevreau, Fontevraude, Fontevrault, Fontevrault l'Abbaye, 49590 Fontevraud, Fontevraud abbey
The name of our hotel can also be different: hotel La Croix Blanche is also known as hotel de la Croix Blanche Fontevraud, hostellerie de la Croix Blanche, hotellerie La Croix Blanche Fontevraud or La Croix Blanche Fontevrault.

 

 

Pets are not allowed in the hotel, bar, restaurant or reception areas, except for guide dogs;

however your furry friends are welcome on the terrace.

We will soon be providing an electric charging point so that you can recharge your vehicle on site (surcharge).

Bike & ebike rental on site

Eager to explore the Loire Valley, its troglodyte sites, and the five “Most Beautiful Villages of France” nearby, while cycling along the famous Loire à Vélo routes?

Via our partner Roulici our hotel guests can reserve brand new bicycles and e-bikes for pick up directly at our hotel.
This service is available between mid-March and the end of October 2026.

You book on the website either prior to arrival or after check-in; bicycles subject to availability.
Pick-up and return are done via their website.

Enjoy our refurbished outdoor pool with garden area - relax in the sun or rest in the shade.
After a day of cycling, visiting the Loire Valley castles, local food markets and wineries have a refreshing dip in our pool - the perfect way to unwind and relax. 

Cool drinks, beer, wine, snacks and ice creams can be ordered too.
The small landscaped garden that borders the pool has a number of colourful sun loungers and parasols.
Relaxing by our pool will be a welcome break in your (busy) holiday schedule.

Our heated outdoor pool (8x4 meters) is open from mid May to mid September according to the weather.

a home made pic-nic can be ordered on site : a nice lunch box ideal while travelling, cycling or sightseeing (15€)
