Our heated outdoor pool is open!

Enjoy our outdoor pool & garden area which we created in May 2020.
Relax in the sun and rest in the shade around our heated outdoor pool.
After a day of cycling, visiting the Loire Valley castles, local food markets and wineries have a refreshing dip in our pool - the perfect way to unwind and relax. 

Cool drinks, beer, wine, snacks and ice creams can be ordered too.
The small landscaped garden that borders the pool has a number of colourful sun loungers and parasols.
Relaxing by our pool will be a welcome break in your (busy) holiday schedule.

Our heated outdoor pool (8x4 meters) is open from mid May to mid September according to the weather.

Our French buffet breakfast offers a large selection

• hot drinks (pot of tea - choice of black, green, herbal), freshly brewed coffee, expresso, cappucino, latté, hot chocolate, hot milk…)
• fruit juices, local sparkling wine, soy milk, mineral waters
• home smoked salmon, ham and Serrano ham, eggs, different cheeses including the local goat's cheese, charcuterie…
• real French jams & local honey
• pure butter croissants, baguette, different types of bread, breakfast cake, madeleines, rusks, crackers…
• our fitness selection: different types of muesli, cornflakes, all bran, children's cornflakes
• large selection of dried fruits, seeds and nuts, cold milk
• agave syrup, maple syrup, sweet chesnut purée (real French!)
• fromage frais, our home made fresh fruit salad, cinnamon oranges, fresh fruit basket…

Breakfast times 

• buffet 7.30-10hrs; weekends in winter 8-10hrs
• get up and go: 'café & croissant' in our Lounge or on the terrace from 8h30 to 11h (rate according to whatever is orderded)
• early morning breakfast 5-7.30hrs (by reservation -only for those who have breakfast included in their room rate)

E-bicyble rental available on site :

Obligatory tourist tax of 1.20€ per adult per day will be added to your bill

Hotel La Croix Blanche is located in the heart of the town of Fontevraud-l'Abbaye in the Loire Valley, this is a Unesco World Heritage area.
Therefore parking signs are limited and small, but they can be found on EACH entrance road into the village.

In order to help you reach our hotel and car park please follow the instructions below:
* pedestrians/cyclists: you can reach the hotel, restaurant and bar-lounge on foot or by bicycle via the town square opposite the abbey (= 5 Place des Plantagenêts, 49590 Fontevraud-l'Abbaye)
* when entering Fontevraud by car look for the signs indicating our car park: the signs are quite small and dark grey. (do not look for the signs indicating the hotel):

Hotel La Croix Blanche is located opposite the abbey, however the car park is situated at the rear of the hotel building and can be reached via a residential area which leads into a one way street and then towards our car park (yes, hotel guests may use the one way street from the wrong end!)

* electric cars: recharge your electric car on Place de 8 Mai at 200 metres – credit cards accepted

Beware: sometimes the name of our town Fontevraud-l'Abbaye is written in different ways on the internet or the satnav: if necessary try Fontevreau, Fontevraude, Fontevrault, Fontevrault l'Abbaye, 49590 Fontevraud, Fontevraud abbey
The name of our hotel can also be different: hotel La Croix Blanche is also known as hotel de la Croix Blanche Fontevraud, hostellerie de la Croix Blanche, hotellerie La Croix Blanche Fontevraud or La Croix Blanche Fontevrault.

 

No pets accepted in the hotel, bar, restaurant except for guide dogs, however your furry friends are welcome on the terrace

Early arrival from 12hrs or late check out until 13hrs available with a surcharge of +20€ per room per extension

The hotel La Croix Blanche Fontevraud suggest a free fibre optique wifi, during your stay.

 

a home made pic-nic can be ordered on site : a nice lunch box ideal while travelling, cycling or sightseeing (15€)
